CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard Training on the North Shore, MA

The North Shore has more coastline, camps and seasonal staff than anywhere else in Massachusetts, and every one of those beaches, pools and programs needs people who can act. Wicked Safety Training has taught life-safety courses across Greater Boston and the North Shore since 2019 as an American Red Cross Premier Licensed Training Provider, an AHA Training Site and an HSI Training Center. Our instructors are working RNs, EMTs, paramedics and credentialed aquatics professionals with over 100 years of combined experience.

Courses Available Across the North Shore

  • Lifeguarding, waterfront and shallow water, plus Water Safety Instructor certification
  • Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, the workplace and camp standard
  • Healthcare-Provider BLS, Red Cross and AHA, initial and renewal
  • Wilderness First Aid and camp staff programs, plus Safe Sitter and Babysitter Training
  • Bloodborne Pathogens and Emergency Oxygen Administration
  • Instructor-level training, including Lifeguard Instructor pathways for facilities building in-house capacity

Individual Seats or Group Training

Individuals take a public seat and certify on their own timeline. That covers teens chasing a first guarding job, nursing students, coaches, sitters and parents.

Towns, camps, clubs and employers book privately. Certifying a full seasonal staff in one block is faster and cheaper than sending people out one at a time, and group, corporate and recurring-training discounts apply.

On-Site Training From Lynn to Cape Ann

We travel throughout New England, and the North Shore is a regular run. Aquatic courses take place at your own beach, pond or pool, which is the whole point: guards should train on the water they will be watching.

Land-based courses run wherever you have a room, from recreation department buildings and school gyms to hotel function rooms and clinical break rooms. We bring the manikins, AED trainers and supplies, split sessions across shifts where needed, and hand back a completed compliance file.

Who This Training Is Designed For

  • Recreation departments and beach programs certifying seasonal guards before Memorial Day
  • Camps, YMCAs and swim clubs training counselors and aquatics staff together
  • Schools and athletic departments covering coaches, nurses and support staff
  • Hospitals, dental and outpatient practices renewing BLS on schedule
  • Restaurants, hotels and marinas along the coast that need a trained responder on shift

Certification and Recertification

Certification that means anything is earned in a room or in the water. The Red Cross deliberately separates online-only education from in-person and blended certification, and North Shore employers, camps and town programs are almost always asking for the latter.

Depending on the course you choose, you'll receive an American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or HSI certification. Your course listing shows which card you'll get before you pay. Online registration and eCard delivery are available for most courses. Renewal windows are set by employers and licensing bodies rather than by us, so we confirm the exact certification details at registration. Seasonal operations should schedule recertification ahead of hiring so nobody starts the summer with a lapsed card.

Communities We Serve

We train across Essex County and the towns around it, including Lynn, Peabody, Salem, Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Swampscott, Saugus, Lynnfield, Ipswich, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Gloucester, Rockport, Newburyport, Wenham, Hamilton and Nahant. Route 128 and Route 1 make most of that an easy drive in either direction.

Closer to town? See Woburn, Medford, Somerville, Cambridge or Boston.

North Shore Training Questions

Which North Shore towns do you cover?

We train across Essex County and the surrounding towns, including Lynn, Peabody, Salem, Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Swampscott, Saugus, Lynnfield, Ipswich, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Gloucester, Rockport and Newburyport. On-site training reaches the rest of New England as well.

Can you certify guards at our own beach or pool?

Yes, and it is the better way to do it. Waterfront and pool courses run at your own site so guards learn the entries, sightlines and blind spots they will actually be working, rather than a stranger's facility.

How early should a town or camp book seasonal training?

Well before hiring closes. Recreation departments and camps that lock in dates in advance certify a full staff together in the weeks before opening, which beats chasing individual cards once the season is running.

Do North Shore healthcare employers accept Red Cross BLS?

Many do, and others specify the AHA. We hold Red Cross, AHA and HSI credentials, so bring us the wording your employer uses and we will issue the matching card instead of sending you elsewhere.

Is there a public class, or is it on-site only?

Both. Public open-enrollment seats run from our Woburn classroom at 546 Main Street, a straightforward run down Route 128 from most of the North Shore, and private on-site classes come to you.
